Sail used to be the stump of an old apple tree, and so sentience and awareness is new to him, imagine him as a very excitable and loving child, but one with more power and mass than he knows what to do with. During his time as a stump, Sail's spirit existed however, thats what drew Ayla to transform the stump, because she could feel the emotions and aura of this tree's life. The tree had been the central, and favorite within a large apple orchard, and his boughs stretched far. For years he gave all he had in his fruit, filling the baskets and absorbing the emotions and personalities of the Orchard owner and his family. 

Hard work, Love, Generosity, Family, Loyalty, and heartbreak. These are the things that the tree absorbed over the years, until one day the Orchard man never came back to pick the apples, and soon after things changed, but the tree pulled all its spirit down deep into its roots, resting, waiting. 

As an esk, Sail is very cheerful, bubbly and bright, full of excitement and wonder. He romps around excitedly, his cider frothing and bubbling over. Even though esks cannot drink or eat, he shares with them, and the smell alone is enough to lift spirits and bring them joy. He is incredibly generous and will transform almost anything, for many reasons, but tends to sense those who need help the most.
