1855 - Japan

The disappearance of his son, Kaito, 3 years ago, followed closely by his wife's death drove Emperor Katashi to madness. Grief at his loss, and the inescapable feeling of helplessness twisted his grief into rage and despair. He was the emperor, yet he controlled nothing. Winter of 1854 a massive chain of earthquakes began tearing his very home itself apart. Was he cursed? For months the quakes rolled through the palace, walls crumbling like his memories as he spiraled further into his tormented nature. 
X transformed him in a palace courtyard during a fire caused by the quakes, and with chaos all around him, he vowed to use this new life to meditate on the meaning behind everything, and to seek peace if possible. He remembers everything of his past life, and has gained a new understanding of the workings of fate and destiny. He feels that it is useless for him to regret his madness, as it was an inescapable fate, woven into his soul like a tapestry, as was this new life, where meditation could only bring him true peace once he resigned himself to that fate. 

He goes by either of his names interchangeably, Jiro being his first name. This Information is under construction still!
